MFA Students to Participate in 2014 Biennial Graduate Symposium

This Friday and Saturday (1/17-1/18) Texas State MFA Communication Design students have the opportunity to participate in the 2014 Biennial Graduate Symposium hosted by North Carolina State University.  This is the first time participating in the NC State conference, and it is an important opportunity for students to network with colleagues at other institutions. Participating schools are: NC State, RISD, MICA, Vermont College of Art, and York University (Toronto). Texas State and RISD will participate remotely with live video feeds. All of the participating institutions received a copy of the MFA program’s Failing Forward publication. Assistant Professor Maia Wright and graduate student Patrick Gosnell will give a related presentation on the topic of failure in design education.

LIVESTREAM on campus, in Room 3107A
DATES:
Friday, January 17, evening (4:00-7:00 PM) — meet and greet
Saturday, January 18, all day (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM) — presentations and discussion
